BABY SHOWERS JUST FOR MOM ARE SO PASSE; THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN IS THE DADCHELOR PARTY

Bring on the Baseball Games, Diaper Kegs, Nintendo & Beer

Call it what you want…a Daddymoon, Man-Shower, Dadchelor Party or last hurrah as a child-free guy before the baby arrives; it’s the practice of hosting a blowout party similar to a bachelor party for the dad-to-be. And what goes on at a Dadchelor Party? Lots of man stuff. We’re talking Nintendo, pub crawls, sporting events, destination trips and diaper kegs (the art of bringing diapers to the party in exchange for beer). Dads today are much more involved than generations past and want to share in the pre-baby celebrations similar to the moms (just without the cute shower games and petit fours). It’s all about guy bonding and the ability to commiserate with friends about the impending responsibilities of fatherhood.

Robert Nickell, founder of DaddyScrubs, recently hosted a one-of-a-kind Dadchelor Party for daddy-of-five, Dean McDermott. The event coincided with the launch of Nickell’s latest line called, All American Daddy (as seen on Daddy Nickell & Dean McDermott below), which includes hats, shirts and infant/toddler items. Daddy Nickell, Dean and the guests spent the day at Triple B Clays, a clay shooting range in Southern California. In addition to the clay shooting portion of the shower, the guys had a wonderful spread of delicious food and even showed off their sensitive side making flower arrangements to take home to their families.
