Sometimes it seems like the fashion world has grown detached from the reality of day-to-day life. Very rarely do you see clothes during Fashion Week that make you say “Oh, I would love to wear that to the Farmer’s Market!” The key is to find a way to translate the trends from the runway into wearable style that works for you.
Marc Jacobs spring 2012 runway
One trend that has been all over the Spring/Summer 2012 runways is the color tangerine. This color is bold and fun but can actually be extremely wearable in your daily life! Below are two examples of how you can wear this runway trend.
The first outfit is great for women who aren’t ready to completely embrace this trend. Start with a few classic pieces like a slim boot-cut jean, a white v-neck tee shirt, and a tan blazer. Then add pops of tangerine like this fun scarf and bag.
The second outfit is for those who are ready for this trend in a big way! This great dress has a subtle print and timeless cut that allows the bright color to really shine. Add a woven brown belt to define your waist and add some teal sandals for a fun contrast.
Both of these outfits are perfect for running errands, going out to lunch with friends, or even to be worn on vacation (we can dream)!
