Fun in the Sun

With summer break quickly approaching, it’s time to come up with ways to keep the kids-and you- active and entertained throughout the summer. Well, what better way to get everyone up and moving than backyard games? Here are a few favorites that you can enjoy on a daily basis, and even bring along to the park for those summer picnics!

 1. Hook N’ Ring

fun1

Hook N’ Ring is an awesome and simple game that will allow for some fun and friendly competition! All you have to do is install the target to a wall and the tie strong to the ceiling, then start playing. You can do a best out of 10 tosses game or go old school and have a game of H-O-R-S-E. The best part is that this sleek design can be set up on the porch so that you can keep an eye on the kids.

2. Bean Bag Toss

fun 2

This is one of our favorite games to play, especially since the winner usually gets an extra scoop of ice cream! Just set the boards a good distance apart and try to toss the bean bags into the hole, you can make this a 2 person game, or split up into teams. These boards are great because they’re ultra-mobile, meaning you can easily take them to the park or beach with you.

3. Pickleball

fun3

Pickleball is not only fun to say, it’s also a blast for the entire family play. It combines racquetball, tennis, and table tennis, so it’s a great beginner’s game! This set comes with everything you need to set up wherever you are since it doesn’t require tools for assembly. Added bonus: the base doubles as a carrying case for easy and quick disassembly.

4. Bottle Battle

fun4

If you’re looking for something great for big family picnics and summer barb-e-ques, look to Bottle Battle.  This game consists of two teams, each one trying to knock down the opponent’s bottle with a flying disc. The object of the game is to catch the bottle and the flying disc before they hit the ground, making for a fun and super active game. This kit comes with a carrying case, making it easy to take with you.

5. Washer Toss

fun5

Washer Toss is a great option if you’re short on time or want something with a quick setup. The idea is simple, you take turns tossing the washers into the target. You get 1 point if you’re able to get the washer in the box, and 3 points if you get the washer in the cup. Bonus: each washer acts as a bottle opener, so no need to run inside for a refill!
