Holiday Dress Guide 2014

Finding the right dress for the right occasion!

By Dana DeMercurio

Thanksgiving:

We can’t say enough about lace!  Every wardrobe should include at least one of these sexy, feminine and classy dresses, especially in shades of green and red.  If you want to go for the uber-classy lace look, a just-above-the-knee- length black dress is the way to go.  It’s the perfect frock to pair with tights, a simple necklace and booties.  Sleeves or no sleeves, there is no wrong way to wear a lace dress.  Just be careful not to overpower the look with busy accessories like chunky necklaces, as it will only take away from the elegance of the lace itself.   We love this look for Thanksgiving at the in-laws or a festive holiday party with close friends and family.

Christmas:

When was the last time you wore a full-length gown (and no, weddings don’t count!)? If you answered ‘never,’ then it’s time to expand you fashion horizons and add these stunners to your closet’s arsenal.  Ball gowns are completely underrated and don’t get nearly as much attention as they deserve on the market.  We are here to break the boundaries and tell you that full-length dresses are not only elegant and sophisticated, they are extremely versatile.  Depending on the fabric, cut, and embellishments, these beauties can be worn for several different occasions.  We suggest selecting a form-fitting gown and donning it at your next company Christmas party.  You definitely won’t want to be caught under the mistletoe with the office stud wearing anything else!

New Years’ Eve:

Extravagance at its finest is what any good New Years’ Eve party is all about.  The glitz and glamour of such late night festivities is the perfect holiday occasion to shine…with sequins of course!  Light up the night with a flirty and vibrant frock that puts even the most fabulous mirror ball to shame.   There is no over-doing it tonight, ladies.  So go ahead – start the New Year off right with a glass of champagne in hand, and toast to a dazzling life!
